Join us for a week-long choral singing workshop

Take part in a rewarding week of choral singing led by our conductors:

  • Blanche Latour and Céline Latour for the classical repertoire
  • Helena Menachemoff for the gospel repertoire
  • Jean-Marie Couttet for the variety/contemporary repertoire

For the 2027 summer edition of the "Vacances en Chœur" choral workshop, we invite you to work in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Whatever your vocal level, this workshop offers everything you need to progress, discover new repertoire, improve your technique and musicality, and above all, enjoy yourself.

A week full of music and pleasure awaits!

GOSPEL WORKSHOP

This workshop will be driven by traditional gospel music, where body movements lift the voice and inspire the spirit. Together, we will discover (or rediscover) a repertoire of songs rich in spirituality and deeply rooted in history, accompanied by hand-clapping and foot-stomping that bring these captivating rhythms to life.

Learning these songs will also allow us to explore various musical and vocal techniques, which we will approach with both precision and enthusiasm.

This workshop is open to everyone, provided that good humour and enthusiasm are part of the experience.

Helena Menachemoff

After outstanding musical studies and teaching positions at the Paris 9th and 15th District Conservatories, Helena returned to her native region, where she now works as a choir conductor and much more.

VARIETY / CONTEMPORARY MUSIC WORKSHOP

Programme to be announced soon.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced singer, this workshop is designed to develop your talent and enrich your musical experience in a friendly and inspiring atmosphere.

Jean-Marie Couttet

Originally trained as a clarinettist, Jean-Marie Couttet earned a Virtuosity Diploma from the Geneva Conservatory. He currently teaches in Megève, Saint-Gervais and Chamonix, where he also conducts the municipal wind orchestra. Passionate about choral singing, he has sung with the departmental choir and the Scherzetto Ensemble before conducting the Chœur du Prieuré de Chamonix and the Saint-Gervais Vocal Ensemble.

TWO CLASSICAL WORKSHOPS:

Mixed Choir and Women's Choir

Under the direction of Blanche Latour and Céline Latour-Monnier

Two vocal ensembles are available:

Mixed Choir: Opera and Operetta Choruses

Women's Choir: Romantic Choral Works around 1900

Each ensemble will work on its own repertoire while benefiting from the combined expertise of both conductors. Blanche Latour and Céline Latour-Monnier will work daily with both groups.

The level of difficulty is comparable in both ensembles, and participants are expected to prepare the repertoire before the workshop begins.

Both ensembles will perform their complete programme during the final concert at the end of the workshop.

Blanche and Céline Latour

Blanche Latour is a choir conductor in Annecy and formerly taught at the Annecy Regional Conservatory.

Céline Latour-Monnier, pianist-accompanist and choir conductor in Lausanne and Geneva, is a professor at the Geneva University of Music.

Programme Highlights

  • 6 days of choral singing classes
  • 5 hours of singing per day
  • Vocal training, breathing techniques, pitch accuracy, understanding the vocal mechanism, repertoire learning, and more
  • Final public concert on Friday 16 July 2027 at Sainte-Trinité Church* (free admission)
