### How about singing in Les Contamines-Montjoie during your summer vacation in 2025?

**Choral Singing Workshop "Vacances en Chœur" from Sunday, July 13 to Friday, July 18, 2025**

Come and participate in a week-long choral singing workshop led by our choir directors: Blanche Latour for classical repertoire, Helena Menachemoff for gospel repertoire, and Jean Marie Couttet for variety songs.

**Program for the Summer 2025 Edition of the Choral Singing Workshop "Vacances en Chœur"**

We offer a week of choral singing in a friendly atmosphere. Regardless of your vocal level, you will find all the ingredients to progress, discover, improve your technique and musicality, and above all, have fun. Lots of enjoyment ahead!

**CLASSICAL WORKSHOP:**

This year, the classical workshop will explore works from two musically contrasting periods, the Renaissance and Romanticism. For the Renaissance, we will sing several lively motets by Guillaume Costeley, and for Romanticism, more contemplative pieces by Anton Bruckner. No matter your vocal level, these magnificent works will help you progress, discover, improve your technique and musicality, and have fun. Lots of enjoyment ahead! Scores will be provided two months before the workshop, and it is highly recommended to practice them in advance.

Blanche Latour is a choir director in Annecy. With a master’s degree in choir conducting, her passion for choral singing is linked to the constant search for sound quality and the tireless commitment to support each chorister with kindness towards their best potential.

**GOSPEL WORKSHOP:**

This workshop will be marked by the origins of gospel, where body movements elevate the voice and uplift the spirit. We will explore (or rediscover for some well-known songs) a repertoire of deeply spiritual songs with rich historical significance, accompanied by clapping hands and stomping feet to these enchanting rhythms. Learning these songs will also take us through some technical challenges, both musical and vocal, which we will approach with joy and precision. This workshop is open to everyone, provided there is good humor and enthusiasm.

Helena Menachemoff, after brilliant musical studies and positions at the conservatories of Paris 9th and 15th, returned to her homeland as a choir director and more.

**VARIETY WORKSHOP:**

The variety workshop invites you to the sea with a program dedicated to the most beautiful songs on this theme: "La mer" by Trénet, "Emmène-moi" by Boulevard des airs, "Belle Ile en mer" by Voulzy...

Jean Marie Couttet, a trained clarinetist, achieved virtuosity at the Geneva Conservatory and currently teaches in Megève, Saint-Gervais, and Chamonix, where he leads the municipal harmony. Passionate about choral singing, he joined the departmental choir and the Scherzetto ensemble before directing the Prieuré de Chamonix choir and the Saint-Gervais vocal ensemble.

**Program Highlights:**

- 6 days of choral singing classes: 5 hours of singing per day from 9 am to 12 pm and from 5 pm to 7 pm*.
- Voice work, breathing, accuracy, awareness of the vocal mechanism, learning songs...
- End-of-workshop concert open to the public on Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Sainte-Trinité church (free entry).
