"Vis ma vie en réserve naturelle" (Live my life in a nature reserve) from Tuesday 9 at 10 a.m. to Friday 12 July at 2 p.m.
Living in the heart of a protected area is surprising in many ways: how and why is an area regulated? Who lives there, and with what needs and resources? Over the course of a few days, let's immerse ourselves completely in the heart of this remarkable area, the Contamines-Montjoie nature reserve, shared by non-humans and humans alike through its many uses.
Educational stay supervised by a mountain leader and a representative of the Contamines-Montjoie nature reserve.
Maximum 12 participants aged 9 and over*.
On the program, "vis ma vie de":
🥼 Scientist: participative science as part of "Refuges sentinelles" (various flora monitoring, yellow-billed chocards, amphibians, temperature station).
🏠Refuge keeper: carry loads, take part in daily tasks, better understand how these high-altitude accommodations work and the importance of living well together.
🏞 Nature reserve manager; participative workcamp with cleanup of bivouac areas and restoration of fire pits.
🐑 Shepherd; in the heart of the alpine pastures, learn the harshness of daily life but also the exceptional value of the profession.
🚶♂️ Mountain leader and mountain guide; understand the differences between these two professions, and how alpine culture enables us to apprehend life in the mountains, in the face of its risks as well as its beauty (present for the entire stay as part of an itinerant tour with elevation changes).
The program:
Day 1, Tuesday 9/07 (5 km, 800m D+)
> Welcome (9:30 a.m.) at the Pontet / Gorge gondola parking lot, ascent to the Tré-la-Tête refuge via the reverse side of the Cugnon then the Claudius Bernard path, with food porterage.
> Water and waste management in the refuge?
> Overnight stay at the Tré-la-Tête refuge
Day 2, Wednesday 10/07 (x km, 500m D- / 700m D+)
> Descent to La Giettaz via Combe Noire, then picnic area.
> Clean-up and restoration of fireplaces at the La Giettaz campsite.
> Ascent and overnight stay at the refuge des Prés
Day 3, Thursday 11/07 (x km, 500m D+)
> Day near the refuge and participatory science
> Mountain picnic and dinner at refuge des Prés
Day 4, Friday 12/07 (x km, xm D+)
> Head for La Balme to meet the shepherd
> Head for the Plat de la Rollaz for a presentation on GP actions at Rollaz les Prés
> Picnic at Plat de la Rollaz and descent to ND de la Gorge to reach the Pontet parking lot.
Price includes:
🚶♀️ 4 days of mountain exploration supervised by a mountain guide.
🥪 3 picnics. Day 1 picnic to be provided by participants.
🛏 3 nights' accommodation in a dormitory on a half-board basis. 1 night at the refuge de tré la tête and 2 nights at the refuge des Prés (bring your own sheet).
Price does not include:

Course limited to 12 people. The organization reserves the right to cancel in the event of insufficient numbers. In the event of cancellation by the organization, participants will receive a full refund.
